Asset Layouts

ToolPlanAccessSummary

hudu_list_asset_layoutsFreeRead-onlyList asset layouts (asset type schemas) with optional filters and pagination.
hudu_update_asset_layoutProDestructiveUpdate an existing asset layout's fields, name, or settings.

[Hudu] Create a new asset layout (asset type schema). Asset layouts define the structure, custom fields, and display settings for a category of assets. Returns the created layout with its assigned ID. The JSON must include at minimum a name and fields array. IMPORTANT: omit 'active' and the layout can come back inactive and hidden, needing a separate update to switch on - pass "active": true explicitly. Give every field a 'position'; Hudu rejects a blank one.

ParamTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
fieldsJsonstringyesJSON object for the asset layout. Must include name and fields array; add "active": true unless the layout is deliberately meant to stay hidden. Example: {"name":"Network Switch","icon":"fas fa-network-wired","active":true,"fields":[{"label":"IP Address","field_type":"Text","position":1}]}.

[Hudu] Update an existing asset layout's fields, name, or settings. Returns the updated layout. Use hudu_get_asset_layout to check current values before updating. Changes to the layout affect all existing assets of that type. To change an EXISTING field you must include its 'id' in the fields array, or Hudu answers 'label has already been taken'. WARNING: changing a ListSelect field's 'list_id' permanently clears that field's data on every asset using this layout, so ECHO the fields array back exactly as hudu_get_asset_layout returned it and change only what you intend - never retype or reconstruct it. If a small update returns a 500, try again sending that full echoed 'fields' array alongside your change.

ParamTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
fieldsJsonstringyesJSON object with layout properties to update. Example: {"name":"Network Switch v2","icon":"fas fa-ethernet","active":true}. To edit fields, echo back the whole fields array from hudu_get_asset_layout with each existing field's id and list_id intact: {"fields":[{"id":501,"label":"IP Address","field_type":"Text","position":1}]}.
