Jobs

ToolPlanAccessSummary
datto_create_quick_jobProDestructiveRun a component as a quick job on one device via PUT /v2/device//quickjob.
datto_get_jobFreeRead-onlyGet a job's data and status via GET /v2/job/ — name, status (active or completed) and creation time.
datto_get_job_componentsFreeRead-onlyList components associated with a job.
datto_get_job_resultsFreeRead-onlyGet one device's execution results for a job via GET /v2/job//results/.
datto_get_job_stderrFreeRead-onlyGet the error output a job produced on one device via GET /v2/job//results//stderr.
datto_get_job_stdoutFreeRead-onlyGet the standard output a job produced on one device via GET /v2/job//results//stdout.

[Datto RMM] Run a component as a quick job on one device via PUT /v2/device//quickjob. THIS EXECUTES CODE ON THE DEVICE. Returns the created job — job.id, job.uid, job.name, job.status (active or completed), job.dateCreated — plus the components it was built from. Read the outcome with datto_get_job (status, by job.uid), then datto_get_job_results, datto_get_job_stdout and datto_get_job_stderr, all of which take that job UID together with the device UID. A device Datto does not recognise answers 404; a malformed body answers 400.

ParamTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
componentUidstringyesThe component UID to execute. Use datto_list_components to find valid UIDs.
deviceUidstringyesThe device UID to run the job on. Use datto_list_devices to find device UIDs.
jobNamestringyesName for the quick job.
variablesJsonstringnonullOptional component variables, accepted in EITHER form: a JSON object of name/value pairs (e.g. '{"var1":"value1"}') or a JSON array already in Datto's shape (e.g. '[{"name":"var1","value":"value1"}]'). Datto accepts only the array form on the wire, so an object is converted to it before sending and non-string values are sent as their JSON text — Datto types every variable value as a string. Omit if the component takes no variables.

[Datto RMM] Get a job's data and status via GET /v2/job/ — name, status (active or completed) and creation time. The identifier is the job's UID, which is what datto_create_quick_job returns as job.uid; the short numeric job id shown elsewhere in Datto is a different value and produces a 404 here.

ParamTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
uidstringyesThe job UID (e.g. the job.uid value datto_create_quick_job returned). Not the numeric job id.
ParamTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
pageNointegerno0Page number (0-based; the first page is 0). Default 0.
pageSizeintegerno50Results per page. Default 50, max 250.
uidstringyesThe job UID.

[Datto RMM] Get one device's execution results for a job via GET /v2/job//results/. Returns jobUid, deviceUid, ranOn, jobDeploymentStatus and the per-component results. Results are PER DEVICE, so both identifiers are required — a job that ran on several devices is read one device at a time. The job UID is the job.uid datto_create_quick_job returned.

ParamTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
deviceUidstringyesThe device UID to get results for. Use datto_list_devices to find device UIDs.
uidstringyesThe job UID (the job.uid datto_create_quick_job returned).

[Datto RMM] Get the error output a job produced on one device via GET /v2/job//results//stderr. Returns one entry per component — component UID, component name and the captured output. Output is PER DEVICE, so both identifiers are required. A job UID and device UID Datto has no result for answers 404.

ParamTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
deviceUidstringyesThe device UID to get stderr for. Use datto_list_devices to find device UIDs.
uidstringyesThe job UID (the job.uid datto_create_quick_job returned).

[Datto RMM] Get the standard output a job produced on one device via GET /v2/job//results//stdout. Returns one entry per component — component UID, component name and the captured output. Output is PER DEVICE, so both identifiers are required. A job UID and device UID Datto has no result for answers 404.

ParamTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
deviceUidstringyesThe device UID to get stdout for. Use datto_list_devices to find device UIDs.
uidstringyesThe job UID (the job.uid datto_create_quick_job returned).
