The StackJack bot helps people in the StackJack Discord server find answers: docs and tool searches, platform status, account verification, the roadmap, and help from the team. This page says what it reads, what it keeps, for how long, who else handles it, and how to have it removed.

What the bot reads

  • Messages in the help channels the bot is set to watch, and the threads under them. The bot reads them to spot support questions so the StackJack team can answer faster.
  • Commands you send it (!supportid, !docsearch, !toolsearch, !status, !helpme, !roadmap, !feature, !forgetme, and the matching / commands), and a support code you paste, anywhere in the server it can see. A !feature sent as a reply reads the message it replies to.
  • A message someone points it at, in any channel it can see: the Find docs for this message and Find tools for this message menu entries, and a !docsearch or !toolsearch sent as a reply to a message. A !docsearch or !toolsearch with no words, typed in a thread, reads the thread's first message, or the latest message from someone else in the thread.
  • Messages the StackJack team points it at, in any channel it can see: Should have caught this records a message as a missed question, and opening a support ticket copies the recent messages of that channel.

Discord delivers the messages of every channel the bot can see. Outside the list above, the bot does nothing with a message and stores nothing. It does not read direct messages, and it ignores messages from other bots.

What it keeps, and for how long

WhatKept for
The text of a message the bot recorded as a support question, including the follow-up messages you send right after it, and the words of your searches30 days, then deleted. When you delete a message while the bot is online, StackJack removes its copy right away, including a message removed in a bulk delete. A message deleted while the bot is offline is removed by the 30-day clean-up
A one-sentence summary with no names, the category the bot assigned, and what the team did with itkept, with no link back to you after the 30 days
An answer the team postedkept, so later answers stay consistent
Draft answers that were never posted, and the team's notes on a draftdeleted together with the text of the question
The copy of your question the bot posts for the team in a private staff channel (up to 600 characters), and the draft answers shown therereplaced when the text of the question is deleted: the copy with a one-sentence summary or a note that the text was removed, a draft with a note that it was removed. Right away when you delete your message while the bot is online or use !forgetme; within the hour after the 30 days or a removal the team makes
Your verification (which Discord account presented a support code, and when)90 days
Which StackJack account your Discord account was verified against90 days, stored in the region your StackJack account lives in (US or EU)
A support ticket the team opens from a conversation, with the messages it copiedkept in Featurebase with the ticket
A roadmap request you add (with !feature, /feature or an Add button): your words, the links in them, the names of files you attached with a link to your Discord message, and your Discord usernameposted on StackJack's public roadmap, where anyone can read it once the team approves it. Kept there until the team removes it

No model is trained on anything the bot stores. The records are used to measure how well the bot spots real questions and to improve its answers, with a person reviewing every answer before it is posted.

Who else handles it

  • Discord carries the messages.
  • TypeSafe classifies a message's text to decide whether it is a support question, and ranks docs and tools for a search. It receives the text with mentions and links removed. The bot does not send your Discord id, your username, your email address or your organization.
  • Anthropic writes a draft answer when a StackJack team member asks for one. It receives the question's text with mentions and links removed, the thread title, public StackJack documentation and tool descriptions, public status notices, the team's standing guidance for answers (only from questions they answered publicly), and earlier answers the team posted with their one-sentence summaries. The bot does not send your Discord id, your username, your email address or your organization.
  • Featurebase receives a conversation when the team opens a support ticket from it: up to the last 25 messages of that channel from people (not bots), with the names shown in Discord, and the support code you presented, if any. It also hosts the public roadmap: a roadmap search sends it the words you searched for, and a request you add sends it your words and your Discord username. The bot never opens a link you include and never copies a file you attach.
  • TypeSafe also compares a roadmap search or request with the roadmap's existing requests, to find a duplicate. It receives the text with mentions and links removed.

What the bot never does

  • It never posts an AI-written answer on its own. A StackJack team member reviews every answer and chooses to post it. When the team turns it on, the only things it posts unasked are fixed replies to a feature request in a help channel: the matching roadmap item to vote on, a button that only you can press to add your request, a link to StackJack's docs when the connector you asked for already exists, or a note asking for a link to the vendor's API docs.
  • It never adds anything to the roadmap unless you ask: with !feature, /feature, or your own press of an Add button.
  • It never sends you a direct message you did not ask for.
  • It never shows your email address, your name, your organization or your region in Discord.

How to have it removed

  • !forgetme (or /forgetme) deletes, right away, the text the bot stored from your messages and searches, the drafts that were never posted, and the bot's record that you are verified, and replaces the team's copies in the staff channel. It then sends you one link per region that deletes your verification on the StackJack side. The ✅ on a code you pasted earlier stays in the channel, but it no longer counts. If you ask more than a few times in one hour, the bot still deletes the text each time, but it answers with ⏳ and sends no new links until the next hour.
  • !supportid forget does the same as !forgetme.
  • Or ask the StackJack team in the server, or email support@stackjack.io. The team removes your verification and the text the bot stored, in both regions, and the staff-channel copies are replaced within the hour. This works after you leave the server too.

A removal does not reach the one-sentence summary and the category (neither names you), the answers the team posted, a support ticket already opened in Featurebase, or a roadmap request you added. Ask the team to delete the ticket or the request.
